KWHI has an active tower construction permit that will take its daytime power to 3800 watts, while keeping the nighttime power at 72 watts. The permit was issued 31 Aug 2016 and is good until 2019.
The FM side is branded "12 In a Row Country K-TEX 106", but the official call letters are KTTX-FM. KTTX broadcasts on the 106.1 frequency not in Brenham, but in College Station, 40 miles away. The tower on top of the studio relays the broadcast to a transmitter in Burleson county to reach the larger (and more lucrative) Bryan-College Station market.
