The frieze is a cross within a shield surrounded by leaves. It is over the door. Above this, somewhat higher, it says "Slovenska Skola". Above that is "R.C. Parochial School". The building itself has ornate brickwork.
The apartments are called Schoolhouse Apartments. It was a school run by St. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church, which is next to it. The church provides some services to the apartments.
