At the entrance lobby of the planetarium in Stuttgart, Germany, Baden-Württemberg is an old projector of the planetarium on a permanent display.

You can enter the entrance lobby during the opening hours of the planetarium without any fee.

The projector was built in 1968 by ZEISS Oberkochen.
It was in use 1977-2001. It is on display since 2001.
It was the world's most modern projector for a planetarium at its time and was donated to the City of Stuttgart.

It was in use for 23,041 shows with 4,492,407 visitors alltogether.

'Plantariumsprojektor ZEISS Modell VI
Dieser seinerzeit modernste Planetariumsprojektor der Welt wurde im Jahre 1968 in den ZEISS-Werken Oberkochen gefertigt und 1969 der Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart gestiftet. Er war vom 21. April 1977 bis einschließlich 29. Juli 2001 in Betrieb. In 23041 Vorführungen erlebten 4492407 Besucher die Faszination eines klaren Sternenhimmels.

Die beiden großen Kugeln projizieren den nördlichen und südlichen Sternenhimmel. Zwischen ihnen befinden sich die Planetenkäfige mit den Doppelprojektoren für Saturn, Sonne, Mond, Merkur, Venus, Mars und Jupiter.
