The two storey Victorian Georgian style cottage was built for Lionel Samson in 1835 and the three storey Federation Free Classical warehouse adjoining was constructed in 1895. The façade "Established 1829" refers to the business, not the building itself.
The premises are presently occuoied by a meat exporter and a wine merchant
