The memorial is a bronze plaque mounted atop a slab of black granite, which has on its front "The Wall" and "November 1-3, 1991" in white text. This is a nod to the first visit of the Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall to Tucson in 1991, but the actual date of the memorial's placement is unknown.
The plaque has a bald eagle at the top center, flanked by American flags. Below the text are the medallions representing each of the branches of the U.S. military, and the text is:
In honor and loving memory
enshrined here, the memorabilia
left by family and friends in
remembrance of those who gave
their all in Vietnam

This section is one of a few here that is reserved for American veterans, of any war. The reference to memorabilia may indicate a time capsule, as one was assembled in 2005 when the Wall visited again.
