Es war von 1877 bis 2008 Hauptpost(amt) der Stadt. Die Gesamtanlage einschließlich des ehemaligen Paketpostamts am Bottlerplatz, erbaut von 1906 bis 1908, steht als Baudenkmal unter Denkmalschutz."
