From the Sisters Ranger Station travel generally W on US20 and ORE242 for about 4.2 miles. Turn right onto FR1012, the Cold Springs Cutoff, continue about 2.0 miles and park. From T14S R9E S23 24 25 26 COR, WAYMARK WMAYFF, hike cross-county 1.5 miles due W to the present quarter corner.
Type of survey mark: 2-1/2" brass cap on pipe; rising 7"
What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?: Found two ponderosa pines both with partly healed blazes, yellow BEARING TREE tags and LAND SURVEY MONUMENT signs on the backsides. There is a LAND SURVEY MARKER decal on a Carsonite post that bears E, 56" distant.
What property is this mark defining?: Deschutes National Forest land all around
