First United Methodist Church is located at the corner of N. Cherokee Avenue and W. Delaware Street. The building is red brick with gabled roofs.
The sanctuary is on the east side and features a large entry porch with three sets of double doors under brick arches. Two wide concrete stairways lead to the entrance, which is located under a gabled pediment roof. Above the entrance is a tall wooden steeple. Windows in the sanctuary are large multi-paned windows with arched tops.
A wide connecting structure connects the sanctuary to the two-story classroom building, behind which is a gymnasium.
The church runs a preschool, and has church activities on Sundays and Wednesday for all ages. They are involved in missionary trips, community feeding program, and numerous other service activities.
