The DVB-T transmitter of high performance and radio transmitter is located on the top of Velká Javorina hill in an altitude of 969 a.s.l. just on the state border with Czech republic.
"The transmitter in shape reminding a rocket is well seen from far away of the west Slovakia as well as from Moravia. Its height is 111 meters, i.e. 364 ft.
In 1957 Velká Javorina hill served as a "halfway station" for enhancing the modulation of signal from the studio in Prague to the studio in Bratislava. First retranslation connection between Ostrava and Bratislava occurred in November 1957, the first transmitter started to broadcast at the end of March 1958. In order to get to the peak of 100 metres high tower you have to use a ladder so that all the maintenance and service require good physical condition."
