I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark from 1940 in good condition. The disk is monumented on top of a square concrete post projecting about 12 inches above the ground. There is a metal witness post near this station to aid in recovery. This BM is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 4179'. The NGS datasheet description is somewhat obsolete. The water tank in Perez is gone as well as the concrete culvert. My more accurate coordinates should place you very close to this mark.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 1.2 MI SE FROM PEREZ. 0.4 MILE SOUTH ALONG A GRADED ROAD FROM THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY RAILROAD WATER TANK AT PEREZ, THENCE 0.6 MILE SOUTHEAST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 139, 0.1 MILE SOUTHEAST OF THE SUMMIT OF A LOW GRADE, 57 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 48.6 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTHWEST END OF THE NORTHEAST CONCRETE HEAD WALL FOR 18-INCH CORRUGATED METAL PIPE CULVERT B-1429+10, 1.1 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A WITNESS POST, ABOUT 2 FEET LOWER THAN THE HIGHWAY, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 1.0 FOOT ABOUT THE GROUND.
