I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark from 1940 in good condition. The disk is monumented on top of a square concrete post projecting about 12 inches above the ground. There is a metal witness post near this station to aid in recovery. This BM is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 4166'. The NGS coordinates and datasheet description are adequate for station recovery with the exception that the concrete culvert mentioned and the original wooden witness post are both gone.

NGS datasheet info:

01/01/1940 by CGS (MONUMENTED)
DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1940 29.2 MI NW FROM CANBY. 29.2 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG THE CANBY-KLAMATH FALLS HIGHWAY FROM THE JUNCTION WITH U.S. HIGHWAY 299 AT CANBY, MODOC COUNTY, 55 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHEAST END OF CONCRETE CULVERT 1546+00, 70 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY, AND AT A WHITE WOODEN WITNESS POST. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED L 602 1940 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.
