Though it was built in 1982 the station still looks almost new, meaning that the crew really does a bang up job of maintaining the place. The staff is comprised of nine career staff and 30 volunteer firefighters. Career staff includes the fire chief, the fire inspector/assistant chief, a training officer/assistant chief, a dispatcher/clerk, and five career firefighters.
The apparatus at their disposal consists of the following:
• Truck Eight - 2008 Ford F550
• Engine One - 2009 American LaFrance Eagle Pumper
• Engine Two - 1986 International 1950B Superior Chassis
• Engine Three - 1981 International 1950B King Seagrave Chassis
• Rescue Seven- 2015 Spartan Rescue Pumper
• Ladder Six - 2013 American LaFrance 100' Aerial Platform
• Tender Five - 1999 International SE 2074 Superior Chassis
In front of the building is a 911 memorial, a replica of the bell and bell tower of an earlier fire station. When you visit the fire station, be sure to check out their museum, attached to the rear of the station. The highlights of the museum are the two perfectly restored fire trucks inside.
