This bell came from the church which stood here from 1876 to 2008 when a fire destroyed most of the church. The church was a Methodist Church before becoming a United Church in the 1920s. The Waterford United Church has since been rebuilt and this monument was created with the bell and bricks salvaged from the fire.
A small plaque is in front of the bell with the following text:
"This bell rang out to the Glory of God for more than 130 years from the belfry of the Waterford Methodist/United Church.
Dedicated by Dr. Egerton Ryerston in 1876. Felled by the fire of 2008.
The bricks used in this monument were also salvaged from the fire."
