The Rooftop Solar Project is a new initiative by Norfolk County to decrease carbon emissions and generate revenue. Installed in February 2016, the solar panels are located on top of Norfolk County Fire Station 3 in Waterford, Ontario.
Installed by the Essex Energy Corporation, the panels connect to the electricity grid and generate 11,000 kwh per year and will make $22,036 over it's 20 year lifespan. This is Norfolk County's First Renewable Energy Generation and will save approximately 5.82 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.
