This free-standing arch is over the main gateway into the Churchyard of St. Patrick's in Jurby.
The arch is in the form of an ornamental iron archway over the entrance to the Churchyard and is situated near to the Parish's War Memorial, which is in the form of a white Celtic-cross which can clearly be seen on the default photograph for this waymark.
Construction of the present church commenced in 1813 and was completed in 1817, alhtough the Church was not consecrated until 1829. The porch to the north of the Church was added in 1940 and now contains a selection of some of the Celtic Crosses found on the Isle of Man.
In the Churchyard there is evidence of a Norse shipburial. Other items of interest are the Joseph Edward Nutgens stained-glass windown in the Church and war graves in the the Churchyard some for servicemen killed in accidents whilst based at RAF Jurby.
