Reginald John Schroeter played left wing on the RCAF Flyers, the ice hockey team that represented Canada at the 1948 Winter Olympics in St Moritz, Switzerland. In the eight-game series, Reg Schroeter had 12 goals, 5 assists and 2 minutes in penalties.

The format was different than today. With nine teams, they played each other once and the medal results were based on the final standings. The teams from Czechoslovakia and Canada both had seven wins and one tie. The tie in the standings was decided by goal average, the numbers of goals-for divided by the number of goals-against.
