This is a typical "Production Tree"

that you might find on any of the

well sites in Wyoming. Starting at

the bottom is an adaptor, next is

the lower master valve, next the

upper master valve, a tee and a

wing valve. The reason for having

three valves in a series is safety.

The bottom master valve is for

emergency use only if if one of the

other two valves fails.
