Springfield Spanish-American War Memorial is located in a traffic triangle in the south central part of Memorial Square Historic District in Springfield, MA at the intersection of Main and Plainfield Streets.

In the middle of the triangle created by Main and Plainfield Streets in the north end of Springfield is a statue honoring the Second Massachusetts Infantry and the part they played in the Spanish-American War. The 8' high bronze sculpture of a Spanish-American War soldier is depicted carrying a bedroll, cartridge belt and pouch, food packs, and canteen. He is hiking with his rifle resting up-side-down on his right shoulder. The sculpture was created by Melzar Hunt Mosman and dedicated in 1906.

The bronze plaque on the front of the 10' by 10' by 10' granite base depicts the the outline of a fort with the names of the campaigns involving 2nd Massachusetts Infantry:
