The former school when travelling from the east along the Jurby Road can be found on the righthand side of the road next to St. Jude Chapelry, also known as St Jude's Church.

The building is built like the Church from the local Manx Slate stone. The roof however is of imported Welsh Slate as the local slate was of very inferior quality.

Interestingly although this former school is now a private residence the bell-gable still has a bell in situ and a bell rope can clearly be seen from the Churchyard.

The former school has been extended to the rear and features a large dormer window affording splendid views to the north of the Island's northern plain and further afield.

The adjacent Church was built to a desgin by John Welch in 1839 and consecrated in 1841.
