Settlement in this area began in 1898 when the SLSF railroad came through, and the town was named Hall. In 1901, a Bristow businessman established the town, named it Depew. The town began to grow with Oklahoma Statehood in 1907, and the discovery of oil in 1911 (the year this building was constructed). The town thrived in the 1920's with numerous businesses, and even an automobile dealership. It began to decline during the Great Depression, and has continued to decline to its current population of 483.

This is a two-story commercial building in the Depew downtown area. It is currently vacant, as are many buildings in town. There is no address showing, but it is in the 400 block of Main Street, two doors down from 421 W. Main.

Constructed of tan brick, the building has numerous areas of red brick which form designs at the corners, and to each side of the upper windows. The corner pillars rise above the roof line at the corners, and a raised pediment at the center is red brick with tan letters "1911".

The store front is off-center to the right, with a wood door. The original display windows are covered with metal siding, leaving only two small horizontal windows. The kick plate under the window area is red brick. A wood door on the left accesses the upper floor. The store front has a sheet metal awning. Two single hung windows on the second floor have concrete sills and lintels.
