This stone 'gatepost' is situated on the cliff-top in Port Erin not far from the village's millennium stone.

The stone bears the following inscription:
LAWN FALCON’S NEST

There is evidence from a bare patch of grass adjacent to the inscribed stone that there was another stone which suggests that this stone was a gatepost.

This stone once marked the original boundary of the Port Erin Castle Hotel (Falcon's Nest Hotel).

This hotel was built in 1860 by William Milner and is claimed to be Port Erin's first hotel. It was originally called the Port Erin Castle and the building still retains its castellated rooftops.
