Reference mark X46 NO 1 is located about 200 feet west of junction of U.S. Hwy. 50 and Nevada Hwy. 839. The cap is set on a square concrete monument about 88 feet north of highway centerline. The cap was set by the U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey in 1953 and was marked BENCHMARK X46 NO 1 1953.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1967 2.1 MI W FROM FRENCHMAN STATION. ABOUT 2.1 MILES WEST ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 50 FROM THE SERVICE STATION AT FRENCHMAN STATION, IN SECTION 5, T 16 N, R 33 E, AT THE JUNCTION OF THE HIGHWAY, A PAVED ROAD WHICH LEADS SOUTH TO THE NEVADA SCHEELITE MINE, AND A GRADED DIRT ROAD WHICH LEADS NORTHEAST, 87 1/2 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 97 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE GRADED DIRT ROAD, 40.3 FEET NORTHWEST OF BENCH MARK X 46, ABOUT 2 1/2 FEET BELOW THE LEVEL OF THE HIGHWAY, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST WHICH PROJECTS 3 INCHES.
