Former Police Station on Strand Road - Port Erin, Isle of Man - Police Stations on Waymarking.com

This former Police Station was the original police station in the Port Erin and served the village for many years before the opening of the short-lived police station on Station Road. (visit link)

In the Port Erin Draft Conservation Area Character Appraisal of July 2009 the building is described as follows:
"...this building has an attractive projecting porch which has been filled in with art-deco style glazing. As an important heritage
building, this should be preserved."

The property is now a private residence and one local estate agent recently described the buildings as follows:
"A Well Appointed Detached Character House with Self Contained Annex Retaining Many Original Features and in Excellent Condition Throughout."

I have had NO problems with taking photos of Police stations but please respect the fact that some services may be nervous about having their photo taken and inquire as to why... I have found that once things are explained they are more than happy to let me photograph the building, crest, chief... (they are people too!)
