Since the beginning of the year 2015 Gratwein Strassengel has been a market town in the district of Graz-Umgebung in Styria. It was formed by the municipalities of Gratwein, Judendorf-Strassengel, Eisbach and Gschnaidt, which were dissolved at the end of 2014, and became the sixth-largest municipality in Styria after its inhabitants.
