This rebroadcaster antenna was constructed in the early 1990s, expanding the audience for the CKWS television in Kingston, Ontario. At first, UHF channel 26 was used. By 2017, UHF channel 48 is being used. The broadcast licence is for Prescott even though the transmitter is in Spencerville. This tower is also being used for telecommunications.

CKWS television in Kingston dates back to 1954. From 1954 until 2011 it occupied VHF channel 11.
