This engineering marvel meets the sanitation requirements of the thousands of visitors to the Western Hemisphere's second-lowest accessible elevation (the first is in Argentina). The modern building also comes with its own weather station - an anemometer is mounted to the roof.

With only about an inch of rain on average per year, water is at a premium, so these pit toilets are put to good use!

Located at the west end of the Badwater parking lot, they are easily identified (and used!). The toilets are accessible 24/7.
