This Sundial is next to the Erin Art Centre in Victoria Squarein Port Erin.
It is mounted atop an octagonal conrete pedestal. The dial is cast in bronze and here again is octangonal contianing a disc with Roman numerial hour marker. The gnomon is again in bronze and is triangular containing an attractive flowing design and has a long tail to the hypotenuse.
Due to the align of this Sundial there is a large gap between the 5 o'Clock and 7 o'Clock markers where the Latin phrase 'TEMPUS FUGIT' has been inserted. (Tempus fugit translates to time flies).
The dial is set on an octangonal concrete tablet and the pedestal also stands on an eight sided base.
Resting against the base at the six 0'clock position is a small rectangular plaque with black letterin which bear the text:
FOR JOHN
FROM LILLIAN
A gnomon (['no?m?n], from Greek ???µ??, gnomon, literally: "one that knows or examines"[1][2]) is the part of a sundial that casts a shadow.
