This compass memorial stone is located in the centre of Standon village on The Rocks at the junction with Mill Lane on the grass verge near to the entrance of All Saints Church. It commemorates the Diamond Jubilee (60 years reign) of Elizabeth II.
The rectangular stone is about 4ft in height and whitish in colour and has been recently cleaned according to the minutes of Standon Parish Council. On top of the stone is a square shaped plaque inscribed with a compass showing various local places.
From North in a clockwise direction the names of the places are as follows;
HATTON WATER WORKS, BARLASTON, SWYNNERTON, STANDON MILL, MILL MEECE PUMPING STATION, ECCLESHALL, DUCKPOND, RECTORY, SUGNALL, CHATCULL, STANDON OLD HALL, MAER.
On the front of the stone the inscription reads;
