The 'You Are Here' map is situated near to the car park on a grassy area near to the Wedgwood Museum. It shows the location of the various buildings and facilities available for visitors to the site.
The Wedgwood Museum has one of the most interesting ceramic collections in the world. Their galleries tell the story of Josiah Wedgwood, his family, and the company he founded two-and-a-half centuries ago. It was winner of the Art Fund Prize in 2009. On December 23rd, 2014, the Museum shut its doors as part of a major redevelopment of the Wedgwood Estate, and reopened in 2015 as a part of the wider World of Wedgwood attraction.
The first museum was opened in 1906, and Wedgwood was amongst the first ceramic manufacturers to have it on a permanent site. It was on display for the public at the factory in Eturia until the outbreak of World War II when, like many other collections, it was packed away for safekeeping.
A visit to the museum could also be combined with a trip to the World of Wedgwood, a Factory Tour and shops.
Food is available at the Dining Hall.
The museum is family friendly with interactives designed to engage everyone - from the smallest of toddlers to those that are simply young at heart.
The Museum is fully accessible for wheelchair users, there are wheelchairs available to hire, and wheelchair accessible toilets.
There is a loop system for the hard of hearing.
Guide dogs welcome. Other dogs are not allowed in the museum but are allowed on the estate provided they are on a lead.
Special admission rates are offered for groups of 12 or more.
