The quarry is a surprise as it is located in a residential development in the northern edge of Phoenix. Buffalo Ridge is a complex of small hills bordered on the south by a public park and on the north by a housing development and freeway. The quarry is on the northern edge of the park. It is operated by WE Rock AZ, a supplier of landscaping material.
