Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery is a lovely cemetery on the north side of Sand Springs. The gently rolling land, spotted with large trees and drives is a solemn setting for this memorial.
The St. Mihiel American Legion Post No. 17 placed this memorial, and a bronze plaque reads: In memoriam / 1917 - 1918 /St. Mihiel Post No. 17 (with the American Legion seal). This plaque is located next to a piece of military artillery and a flagpole.
A five foot slab of white granite is engraved "In memory of those who gave their lives for God and country."
On the hillside west of this memorial can be seen many military headstones.
