When first arriving at the coordinates, we assumed our GPS was malfunctioning. We were in the parking lot of the Keystone Plaza shopping center. But to our amazement, we were also stopped in front of the sign which reads: Tullahassee Creek Indian Cemetery, established 1883 !

This cemetery was established during a time when the Cherokee settled here. As the land evolved to new ownership, the cemetery remained and the town grew up around it. A history of these times is nicely written on the Find a Grave web page shown below.

This area is surrounded by a fiberglass picket fence, and is completely engulfed by the parking lot. There are 49 graves here, dating from 1883 to 1912. The area is very well kept, with flowers on each headstone. A large natural rock stands in the cemetery, with a bronze plaque reading: "Old Indian Cemetery / marked by Tulsa Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution."
