The former Union Bank was built in 1889 in the Federation Free Classical style and is a two storey smooth rendered and Colorbond roofed building with a balustraded parapet. The Union Bank was one of the first banks to establish a major building in the west end High St. In 1930/1 the bank moved further east down High Street and the Flying Angel Mission to Seamen moved into its old premises. where they stayed for the next 40 years, today the building is occupied by a customs broker and shipping agents
