The Bunbury Railway Institute was built in 1956/57 and replaced an earlier one, built in Arthur Street c 1888. The two storey brick building comprised a main hall above a lesser hall, offices, reading rooms, kitchen and meeting rooms. Until the building was sold in 1999 it had been vacant since the mid 1980's, in 2001, the former Railway Institute was converted into office units,
