Juli 2014, ein dreistöckiger Sozialbau, Bergmannstraße, München-Westend. 500 Quadratmeter Hausfassade. Der raue Außenputz wird zur Leinwand. Von einer hydraulischen Hebebühne aus verpasst das Künstler-Duo "Cyrcle". aus Los Angeles dem Wohnblock einen neuen Anstrich, verwandelt das Gebäude in ein Gemälde. Leuchtendes Orange, dumpfes Grau - gepinselt, gestrichen, gesprüht. Zehn Tage lang, bei Regen und bei Sonnenschein - nachts im Flutlicht.
Ikonographische Heiligenbilder in Siebdruck-Optik, überlebensgroße Machtsymboliken der europäischen Kultur - auf den Kopf gestellt, mit einer dicken, horizontalen Spiegelachse in der Körpermitte. "Pursue", "Persecute", "Truth" steht unter den drei Figuren: ein Ziel verfolgen, jemanden verfolgen, die Wahrheit finden. Street-Art als unbequeme Ästhetik im sozialen Brennpunkt, an der Fassade eines Sozialbaus in München-Westend, einem ehemaligen Arbeiterviertel mitten im Prozess der Gentrifizierung. Die Message ist subtil, aber stark: Hinterfrage die Situation, gehe deinen eigenen Weg!
Leider wurde das Kunstwerk durch Vandalismus zerstört und zwei Jahre später von "Cyrcle" durch Helden der Kindheit ersetzt.

Street art as an uncomfortable aesthetic in the social focal point, on the facade of a social building in Munich-Westend, a former workplace in the middle of the process of gentrification. The message is subtle but strong: question the situation, go your own way!
Unfortunately, the artwork was destroyed by vandalism and two years later replaced by "Cyrcle" by heroes of childhood.
