Jadis St My était célébré le 23 mai.

This fountain is dedicated to St My, a hermit healer who lived on the banks of the Cosson during the Merovingian dynasty. According to legend St My was consulted about all kinds of ailments and he would deliver his diagnoses through a narrow opening which lit his cave. The treatment was to fast, drink several glasses of water from the fountain, celebrate Mass and say prayers.
The cult of St My grew in importance and a chapel (the old church) dating from the 1 lth century was dedicated to him.
The shrine containing his relies and a statue of him are conserved in the parish church. St My' s feast day is celebrated on 23rd May.
(Well before it became a sign of recognition for the pilgrims en route for Santiago da Compostella, the scallop shell was used during the Merovingian period as an ornament, a funeral offering or to protect from evil spells and illness.)
