This specially built cairn is situated two miles up Glen Mark next to the track that eventually reaches Ballater some ten miles further on over the eastern shoulder of the Grampian Mountains.
There is a plaque on the cairn that reads as follows:
Welcome to Invermark Estate.
Deer stalking takes place on this estate to keep numbers in balance with the upland environment and for economic benefits.
Invermark lies within the East Grampian Deer Management Group Area.
Stalking takes place annually on most days between mid August and 20th October over the whole estate.
When stalking is taking place, you can help by: -using paths; -following ridges, and; -following the main watercourse if you have to go through a corrie.
There is no stalking on Sundays.
Thank you for your co-operation.
The cairn is around four foot high with a large lump of Quartzite on the top.
