Neo-Renaissance builing of former Council office (currently Knihovna Jana Drdy / Jan Drda Library), located in the main public space of town Príbram - T.G. Masaryk Square (Námestí T. G. Masaryka), was built in 1922.
The Pribram municipal library was founded and opened for public in school in Comenius Square in 1890. Growing fastly after the foundation, library several times changed its location. With more than 150 000 books the library eventually acquired appropriate building of former District council in main square in 1984. This neo-Renaissance three-storeyed house was built at the site of old demolished Baroque houses in 1922. Library was completely reconstructed and equipped by study room with free internet access in 1998. Nowadays the Library operates not only here, in the main building, but also in three branch libraries in Brezové Hory, school in Skolní street and Križák. Library also manages Pribram Information Centre for tourists in the main building.
