The George Pickering Nichols House, a two-story Greek Revival farmhouse, was built c.1846 and contains 13 rooms. It is a fine example of a rural Connecticut residence in the Greek Revival style that appears to retain most of its original features. The builder of the house, George Pickering Nichols (c.1796-1877), was a member of a family that settled early in Thompson and were prominent for generations in local and state civic affairs
