Austere Functionalist Church of Master Jacob of Mies (Sbor Mistra Jakoubka ze Stríbra), located in Príbram district Brezové Hory, was built for local congregation of Czechoslovak Hussite Church in 1936.
The Church bears name of Jacob of Mies (Jakoubek ze Stríbra), Czech church reformer from the Kingdom of Bohemia, Charles University lecturer, and colleague of Jan Hus. Modern Functionalist building, designed by architect Stanislav Vachata, was constructed in incredible short time in 1936 (cornerstone laid on May 24 - ceremonially opening on October 25).
Part of the building is its 30 m high bell tower, topped by double-cross and observation gallery. Entrance to the church leads through a marble columbarium with stained-glass windows designed by sculptor Václav Šára. He also created the altar reliefs and sculptures "Work", "Love" and "Freedom" at the corners of the church.
