Kuskanook Rest Area gazebo is located at the edge of the beautiful Kootenay Lake. This octagon shaped gazebo appears to be made of red cedar with a shake roof. There is a picnic table with benches to enjoy that summertime lunch or just take in the view. It is near the boat launch and boat dock.
The Kuskanook Rest Area is very well maintained and offers a boat ramp, picnic tables and bathrooms, and outstanding views of the Kootenay Lake. You can fish off the dock and the boat launch is open all year depending on winter conditions and lake level.
There is ample parking, however overnight camping is not allowed and dogs must be kept on a leash. Other than that this is a great location to take that much needed break offering sandy beaches, green areas and lots of large shades tree to enjoy the fresh Kootenay air and sunshine.
