Park created 1995
Created as Memorial Park in 1995 with the erection of the monument to the Great Flood of 1993, and then renamed with the erection of the Veterans Monument in 2006.
The city has no Parks and Recreation Department like many cities, but this small one. I am to understand the train depot sat just to the south and adjacent to this site.
All that is here is the two monuments (see gallery) and a new flower bed (see gallery) and they hold the annual tree lighting at Christmas. The small evergreen tree in my main photo (taken 1997) and the tree behind the Veterans Memorial (taken in 2006) and the tree in the city photo (taken 2012) are the same tree.
