The graves of the OttomanTurks consists of a square-railed enclosure containing a row of seven simple white heas stones. In front of the headstones is a white marble place with follwing inscription:
BURADA 1nci DUNYA
HARBINDE SEHID OLAN
YEDI TURK YATUYOR.
-Ruhlarina Fatiha-
HERE ARE BURIED SEVEN
TURKISH INTERNEES
WHO DIED IN THE
1914 - 1918 WAR.
In the top Left and right corners of the plaque is a crescent and a star.
The explanation for the presence of these graves is that during WW1 the Otttoman Turks would have been internees at Knockaloe.
Knockaloe was an internment camp for civilian enemy aliens. The Ottoman Turk enemy aliens were held at Knockaloe for the duration of hostilities.
Each of the headstones bears a single name and the date of death:
Ramazan Mehmet 17th November 1916
Huseyin Halid Ibrahim 16th February 1917
Huseyin Ali 20th April 1917
Hasan Dervis 18th May 1917
Mehemet Ali 17th September 1917
Kalan Yegen 9th April 1918
Ahmet Hasan 15th July 1918
