The longest paved trail, Salem Creek Greenway is most popular among bicyclists, who can add the Salem Lake loop for an 18-mile round trip. The bridge serves as part of the greenway trail.

A gentle loop brings one up from the creek side trail up to the old bridge for access to Waughtown Street. The bridge became part of the trail when Waughtown Street was realigned for its connection with Main Street.
