Eduard Franz Pulvermann gestaltete 1920 den Parcours für das Deutsche Spring-Derby in Hamburg-Klein Flottbek, eines der schwersten Springreitturniere der Welt. Das Hindernis Nr. 14 trägt den Namen Pulvermanns Grab.
Pulvermanns Grab ist das wohl bekannteste Hindernis im internationalen Springreiten. Es ist das Hindernis Nr. 14 auf dem Derby-Parcours in Klein Flottbek. Das Hindernis ist in einer 15 Meter langen Senke aufgebaut und besteht aus je einem Rick am Anfang und am Ende der Senke, in deren Mitte ein ebenfalls zu überspringender Wassergraben liegt. Die Seitenbegrenzung des Hindernisses verengt sich zudem noch zum Graben in der Mitte hin. Dieses Hindernis konnte der Erbauer des Kurses selbst als Springreiter niemals fehlerfrei überwinden.

Eduard Franz Pulvermann designed the course for the German Spring Derby in Hamburg-Klein Flottbek in 1920, one of the most difficult show jumping tournaments in the world. The obstacle No. 14 is called Pulvermann's grave.
Pulvermann’s Grave is probably the most well-known hurdle in international show jumping. In Hamburg, it is the 14th hurdle and hardly any rider can manage it. Pulvermann’s Grave begins with an upright before a three-meter deep valley and ends with an upright, yet that’s not all. In the middle, there is a trench filled with water. Pulvermann himself did not manage to do the jump at the inaugural event.
