Es Foner (The Slinger) is a life size bronze statue of a warrior using a sling to launch a projectile, a military technique perfected in the Baleric Islands. The Slinger is wearing only a loin cloth and sandals. He depicted in the act of slinging. His right foot is forward and he is holding a sling in his right hand. Apparently the sling has deviated from its logical position over time. His left arm is by his side and he is holding a projectile in his left hand.
The sculpture has was created by Lorenzo Rossello in 1898 and cast at Codina Hermanos (Madrid). The sculpture was awarded a silver medal at the World Exposition in Paris in 1900. A bronze plaque is attached to a 3' by 3' by 3' base made of stone blocks. The plaque is inscribed:
"ES FONER"
