Lopburi is in central, rural Thailand, and the Peacock Temple is past the Sunflower Fields. (See geocache: GCRDCB, which about half way between some of the fields, and this Arch)

This large white concrete arch provides a constriction point on the road to the Peacock Temple, east of Lopburi. There are several shrines, as well as the Temple, just a few hundred metres ahead. The arch of fairly typical Buddhist design, with some gilded parts to it.
* There is nowhere to park if you are in a car; so drive on to the Temple, and then walk on back. *

After a couple of weeks volunteering at Muak Lek (about 45 km east) I had come in this direction to try and find GC1KN70, "Treasure Cave", which tho it had been placed in 2009 [by Monkey King], hadn't been found even when I had arrived in Thailand, 2 December, 2015. [It had been logged as 'Found' two days before I was free of my volunteering stint.]

[I had left my hired motor scooter at this gate on the Sunday night ~1800, and with a couple of torches tried to find the western entrance of the Treasure Cave. I gave up at 9 pm when I was 75 metres away 'from the cache', but found myself on a limestone kaarst cliff under moonlight.
I came back the next morning, as I had 'found a track' on my return to the motor scooter, went through the Peacock Temple compound, found the origin of the foot track, and rode the scooter to the western end of the cave.]

Photographed on 'successfully' finding the Treasure Cave, but DNF the cache, and on my way back to Muak Lek: 1205, Monday, 21 December, 2015
Type: Triumphal (Monument/Memorial)

Subtype: Other religious arch

Location: Peacock [Buddhist] Temple
