Am Martinitag 1203 soll Walter von der Vogelweide als Gefolgsmann Bischofs Wolfgers von Passau in St. Martin geweilt haben. Zum 750. Gedenken daran stiftete der Verschönerungsverein im November 1953 die mit einem Relief des großen Minnesängers geschmückte Bank.

Die Rückenlehne ist aufwändig geschnitzt und zeigt links ein Wappen (von Klosterneuburg?), den Namen "H. Walth v.d. Vogelwaide", ein Bild des Minnesängers in der Mitte und die Jahreszahlen 1203 und 1953 auf der rechten Seite. Die Bank wird dem Künstler August Bodenstein zugeschrieben.

On St. Martin's Day in 1203, Walter von der Vogelweide is said to have resided in St. Martin as liegeman of Bishop Wolfgers of Passau. On the occasion of the 750th Remembrance, the Embellishing Association founded the bench decorated with a relief of the great minstrel in November 1953.
