This low lying trig pillar is 81 metres above sea level. It is situated on the western embankment of a disused reservoir at Muirheads, half a mile south of the village of Colliston and three miles from the coastal town of Arbroath just off the A933 road.
STEEPNESS: Virtually none.
TERRAIN: Long thorny grass surrounds the enclosure but the pillar is only a few yards from the entrance.
ACCESSIBILITY: Through a small gap in the fence on the southern side. There is a small space for a car on the minor road nearby not far from the A933 turn off at a slight bend in the road, (do not block the gate), otherwise the nearest parking is in Colliston half a mile north.
NAVIGATION: After entering the enclosure on the southern side and climbing the embankment, the pillar is easily spotted away to the left on the western side around a hundred yards away.
DANGER: None, at the moment the site is derelict and there is still a gap in the fence.
