This plaque is located at the corner of Wilson Avenue and Norfolk Street North. It is dedicated to the 133rd Norfolk's Own Overseas Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. It was under the command of Colonel A.C. Pratt and consisted of mostly members from the 39th Norfolk Rifles of the Canadian Militia in November 1915.

Trained at Camp Borden in Borden, Ontario in 1916, they left for England aboard the S.S. Lapland on October 30th, 1916 from Halifax.

The unit was disbanded in 1917 and assigned to other Canadian units who fought in Ypres, Vimy Ridge, Hill 70, Passchendaele, Amiens, Arras, Canal du Nord, Cambrai and Mons. Of the 680 men who were a part of the battalion over 100 did not return.

The battalion was officially disbanded on July 17, 1917. It is perpetuated today by the 56th Field Artillery Regiment, RCA in Brantford, Ontario.

The plaque was placed in 1973.
